Happy Birthday Friedrich Nietzsche

“Some men are born posthumously” ~ Friedrich Nietzsche

I came across his name for the first time in my 10th class Social Studies History textbook, a lesson about the World War II and if I remember correctly, the sentence was– ‘Hitler was inspired by the writings of Friedrich Nietzsche’. I underlined the sentence, in the presumption that it would come as an objective question and like always, I wanted to show my friends how good I am in Social Studies, especially in History. I did ponder about him for few seconds as he is one who inspired Adolf Hitler. This happened approximately 10 years ago.

I came across his name for the second time when I was in my final year of my Computer Engineering and read Ayn Rand’s ‘The Fountainhead’, I was remotely fascinated to know her inspiration, I did some research and eventually discovered that she was inspired by writings of Friedrich Nietzsche.

I was able to comprehend the intellectual humor of Woody Allen and after watching all his films, I came across an article ‘Thus Ate Zarathustra’ written by Woody Allen for ‘The New Yorker’ and thus I came to know about ‘Thus Spoke Zarathustra’. The admiration for Woody Allen made me look for his books ‘Side Effects, Without Feathers and Getting Even’ in book stores and luckily in the ‘Classics’ section of the book store my eye reads the title of a book ‘Thus Spake Zarathustra’, I was thrilled for an intangible reason, I was not sure whether I need to buy it or not?, I was holding the book in my hand and decided to turn few pages, the introduction section had a quote

“A testing and a questioning hath been all my travelling -- and verily, one must also learn to answer such questioning! That, however, is my taste --”,

I decided to buy the book – thus started my journey into Nietzsche’s works.

Why UPA has better chances to win the 2013-14 Elections and why NDA has only one way to win it

It is the season of politics, with elections of Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh round the corner and the gossips of next general elections makes it more interesting on how Congress (UPA) and BJP (NDA) are going to plan their approach for future.

I being a political watcher and who observes on how political parties are preparing and exuding themselves for the upcoming general elections, I decided to present my views. Of Course, I warn you that whatever you read here might turn out to be the other way when the results are there for everyone to see.

I don’t know what the darling scientific tools of psephologists are, but with my limited knowledge and observation, I can tell that Congress (UPA) has more chances to form the next Government and BJP (NDA) has minimal chances to come to power, going by the observations till today. This observation of mine may come as a surprise to many of the Anti-Congress and Pro-BJP supporters but that seems to be the reality till now. I would explain you how I reached this conclusion bit by bit as the size of this post progresses.

Husbands and Wives

  • 1
I am not writing a review for Woody Allen’s film ‘Husbands and Wives’ nor am i married to write about issues of ‘Husbands and Wives’. This post is about the controversy created by media and feminists regarding the statement made by Shriprakash Jaiswal.  This is what Shriprakash Jaiswal said while addressing a cultural event.
“A new victory and a new marriage have their own importance. But as times passes, the memories of a victory go old and as time passes, a wife gets old, the same charm is not there”
Women organizations protested, they criticized and some even said that it’s “Commodification of Women” and should be charged under IPC. Let’s just replace the word ‘wife’ with ‘husband’ in the statement made by Shriprakash Jaiswal. It would be…
“A new victory and a new marriage have their own importance. But as times passes, the memories of a victory go old and as time passes, a husband gets old, the same charm is not there”
Does the above statement create anger? For me, the above statement is more like a gimmick of a left-liberal- feminist standup comedian. If you have visited a pub or a bar where these days the so called female standup comedians perform their acts, every alternate joke is about boyfriends and husbands and if they are out of sexist jokes they shift their attention on Penis jokes. Of Course, the performance of so called ‘Desi’ female standup comedians is of gutter quality, but no one questions the sexist remarks made by them. Why?

Understand few things before asking for 'Right to Religious Freedom'

  • 1
Perhaps the debate of ‘Right to Religious Freedom’ places the left-liberal intelligentsia in a very comfortable position, the non-rigid conservative supporters in a difficult position and the rookie liberals juxtaposed with their own thoughts. Often we see the topic of ‘Religious Freedom’ termed as a complex issue, it is a simple issue when looked with the lens of anarchy and it would be a mistake to surmise it as a non-state issue.

Some basic definitions of terms which will be helpful to comprehend my perception when you scroll down this page:

Secularism: Secularism is the principle of separation between government institutions and the persons mandated to represent the State from religious institutions and religious dignitaries.

Pseudo intellectual: Pretentiously or insincerely intellectual.

Uniform civil code: A uniform civil code administers the same set of secular civil laws to govern all people irrespective of their religion, caste and tribe.

Why Howard Roark’s life and message makes him the son-in-law of communism

Why Howard Roark’s life and message makes him the son-in-law of communism:

After Karl Marx and Lenin, when world felt the void of Communist heroes, a  reincarnated soul in a ripe orange hair emerged to save the world , he was called Howard Roark, he fought against oppression, championed the cause of the poor, denounced religious dogma and empty ritualism, and sought to inspire a righteous attitude in society.

The life and message of Howard Roark reveals that he imbibed, taught and fought for these principles vehemently. In fact, an objective analysis of the ‘The Fountainhead’ too would reveal that Howard Roark was a better communist than Karl Marx. One could go so far as to describe him as the faithful torchbearer of communism!

Howard Roark and Dominique
